Think spring!

Since August 18th, this is what's happened:

1. Harvested honey the end of September. The Italian hive produced no surplus, and I'm not sure they have enough for winter. Less honey this year, about 50 lbs.
2. Left two deep hive bodies on the hives. I pulled the top one back 1/4 inch for ventilation.
3. Treated both hives with Mite-away II.
4. Fed syrup with Fumagilin B after pulling the mite treatment.
5. The Buckfast hive used all the syrup, but the Italians did not.

Yesterday was warm--52 degrees--and the bees were flying. Lots of yellow streaks on the Italian hive which is a sure sign of nosema, or bee dysentery.
